Exciting Progress

Lisa has come so far in a short amount of months. In my last post, her milestones were documented. Recently, some new consistent behaviors have started to emerge and it's really exciting. Lisa has begun to ask to go out. She has her own way and it takes vigilance in recognizing "her signals", but she is definitely making an attempt at asking to go out. Yay!!! She can't be entirely trusted 100%, but this is a tremendous step in the right direction.

Another consistent behavior Lisa has begun to do more often is sitting on command. Previously, she would do this once in a while. Now, it seems she has gotten the hang of sitting when asked. To help reinforce this command, I've been using treats. This exercise has helped with bridging another concept - the command+action=reward concept. It's exciting to see the a-ha moment!
